The Maison de L’Aguze is in the centre of Saint-Pons de Thomières, in the Hérault (Languedoc) area of Occitanie in Southern France. The town is tucked away in the Haut Languedoc hills, yet easily accessible from major transport hubs by train, air, or road.

Train travel offers a slow and sustainable way to discover France. From the UK, take the Eurostar to Paris and then change onto one of the many national services on offer. The closest train stations to the Maison de l'Aguze are:
Béziers (60 minute drive) with frequent direct services to Paris, Spain, Lyon, and the Mediterranean coast. From Béziers station, there is a direct public bus service to the centre of our town.
Carcassonne (80 minute drive) with services to Paris via Toulouse.
Mazamet (35 minute drive) offering a regional TER service connecting to Toulouse. From Mazamet, it is possible to cycle all the way to the Maison de l'Aguze along the Passapaïs cycleway (40km).
If you want to bring your bicycle with you, it is possible to do so on most services with a dismantled bike + bike bag, and on some service with a fully assembled bike. Follow the link below for more details.

Carcassone (80 minute drive) served by Ryanair from Stansted, Bournemouth, East Midlands, Manchester, and Dublin.
Perpignan (100 minute drive) served by Ryanair from Stansted, Birmingham, and Leeds-Bradford
Montpellier-Méditerranée (100 minute drive) served by Easyjet from Gatwick and Luton
Toulouse Blagnac (120 minute drive) served by Easyjet, Ryanair, and British Airways from Bristol, Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted, Birmingham, and Edinburgh.

There are several options for reaching the Maison de l'Aguze from one of the transport hubs listed above.
Car rental This is a good choice if you would like to be independent during your stay. You will have the option of taking a break from cycling and visiting local areas that are hard to reach by public transport.
Public bus Saint-Pons is very well served by local public buses. The main route runs to Béziers several times per day for the price of 1.60€. Other routes include Bédarieux, Montpellier, and Mazamet. Note that very few services run on a Sunday.
Private transfer This can be a costly option, but may be worthwhile with several people sharing. As an indication, a taxi from Saint-Pons to Béziers or Carcassonne is approximately 200€. We are happy to help you get a quote from local companies.
Cycle If you want to make the most out of your holiday, why not cycle to us directly from the transport hub? The Passapaïs offers a leisurely 40km ride from the train station in Mazamet. From Béziers, it is a 80km ride with 700m of elevation, and from Carcassonne it is 75km with 1000m elevation.
