Your hosts

Chris and Rhianne - the owners of Maison de l'Aguze - with a backdrop of the Languedoc hills.

Hello! We are Chris & Rhianne, your hosts and the guardians of the beautiful Maison de l’Aguze. In December 2020, in the midst of Covid and Brexit, we left behind our native Britain in search of a slower and more fulfilling way of life in France. Since arriving, we have enjoyed getting to know this beautiful region, adding personal touches to the house, and making plans for the future. We are currently busy preparing the house and garden for our own wedding in June.

A little bit about us

A selfie of Chris and Rhianne cyclingWe share a love of music, having met at an open mic night in Brixton, London. One of our exciting new projects is to convert the old banker’s office in the house into a residential recording studio – watch this space!

In June 2023, as recent debutants to road cycling, we cycled (and trained) to Glastonbury festival from the Maison de l’Aguze. For 2024, we are launching a new cycling holiday, showcasing the quiet, beautiful, and varied routes in the area.

We have recently adopted a plant-based diet, and are proud to offer vegetarian and vegan dining options to our guests.

We feel lucky to be on this journey, carving out a different life here in France. Running a guesthouse is not easy, and the projects are never-ending, but there is nothing quite like being in charge of your own destiny.

Guests will also be welcomed by Torvi and Rollo, two miniature poodles who are the real bosses of the house!
